A 12 foot hammock tarp is a large, weatherproof cover that hangs over your hammock to block rain, wind, and sun. The “12 foot” refers to its length, which gives you extra coverage from head to toe and beyond. Think of it as a rain jacket for your hammock, only much bigger. So why does…
An asym tarp is a short name for an asymmetric tarp, a shelter cover with uneven sides or angles instead of a simple square or rectangle. It gets its shape from ridgelines or corners cut at different lengths, which gives you more coverage where you need it. Campers and hammock hangouts love it because it…
A 4 season hammock tarp is a heavy-duty rain cover designed to protect your hammock in all weather conditions, including snow, wind, and freezing rain. Unlike a basic summer tarp, it’s built with tougher fabric, extra coverage, and stronger rigging. In short, it lets you hammock camp year-round instead of only in fair weather. So…
The easiest way to set up a hammock in heavy rain is to hang it under a tarp first, pitch the tarp lower and tighter than usual, and keep your ridgeline angled so water runs off instead of pooling. Do this before the downpour hits, and you’ll stay dry all night. But here’s the thing…
The best way to keep gear dry while hammock camping is to use a rainfly with a wide drip line, hang your gear in a dry bag or stuff sack, and store items under the tarp rather than at its edges. Water sneaks in from above and along your suspension lines, so blocking both paths…
The easiest way to store gear under a hammock is to use the space beneath your suspension as a dry, elevated storage zone. Keep items in a bag or stuff sack, hang it from a ridgeline or tree, or simply tuck soft items directly under your tarp. This keeps your gear off the wet ground…
A hammock gear sling is a strip of fabric that hangs under your hammock to store your gear. It keeps your backpack, shoes, and snacks off the ground and within easy reach. Think of it as a floating shelf for campers. Ever rolled over at night and wished your headlamp were right there? That’s the…
To hang gear from a hammock ridgeline, simply clip your items to the line using carabiners, s-biners, or small loops of cord. The ridgeline runs between the two ends of your hammock, giving you a perfect spot to keep gear off the ground and within easy reach. No fancy knots required. So why bother with…
The easiest way to keep your phone safe in a hammock is to store it in a zippered pocket or a small pouch clipped to the hammock. If your hammock doesn’t have pockets, keeping the phone in a secure bag beside you works too. The goal is simple: stop it from sliding out the second…
The easiest way to get comfortable for side sleeping in a hammock is to sleep diagonally instead of straight down the middle. This flattens the fabric under your body, keeps your back straighter, and gives your shoulder room to breathe. Add a small pillow under your head and a blanket over your shoulder, and you’re…
