How to Hang Hammock from a tree :
Before you head start installing the hammock with trees, you need to know some basics. Whatever the chosen place to hang the hammock, you have to take into account the following things:
The Height:
of the floor to which the hammock cuffs must be: the height of the head will be as a general rule. The more separated the fixing points are, the higher they will have to be.
Separation:
between the two fists; enough so that in the central part the lowest, this is at the height of the back (40-50 cm from the ground). With ropes, carabineers and, where appropriate, slings or metal studs, we will join the ends or cuffs to the wall or tree depending on the case chosen.
Knots:
There different types of knot style. The easiest and safest way to tie the hammock following the scheme is the back bite knot, very easy to put on and take off. Also, there are some other knot methods.
Bowline
This knot is very simple, holds securely and unties the rope of hammock.
To prevent the rope from sliding down from the tree trunk, wrap it around the tree several times and then knit it.
Do not forget for reliability at the end of the rope to knit the control knot. Even if the primary node weakens for some reason, the control node will not allow the primary node to untie.
In general, there is a mass of any knots, allowing securing the rope on the support. I strongly advise you to consider different options and choose for yourself the most suitable one.
Loop noose
In this knot method, you have to twist the rope several times with the string itself. Be careful with this knot because by imposing pressure on the hammock over the time it may lose the knit.
Easily untie the simple running knot
Well, for the heap untied the simple running knot, this tightens the loop around the tree. Very easy to knit, but if you need to untie, pull the free end of the rope.
To prevent this knot from being accidentally untied, slide the free end of the rope into the resulting loop.
Many trees have a very rough bark and, of course, when rubbing against it, the rope deteriorates a little. Also, on other trees, the bark is somewhat tender, and in this case, the string already did the damage to the bark.
To avoid such troubles, you can make a couple of ribbons out of a broad and sturdy lanyard. The ends of the tapes need to be bent and stitched to create loops, and the total length of each tape would be about a meter (maybe more).
The resulting ribbons will be wrapped around a tree trunk, and already a loop can be secured with a hammock rope. You can also do this in different ways.
Ways to hang a hammock using a sling tape
You can push one end of the tape through the loop of the second. In the loop of the second end of the ribbon, you need to stick a short, sturdy wand and throw a loop of a hammock rope on it.
If you have a free carbine, you can wrap the ribbon around the tree and connect the ends with this carbine. With the help of sling ribbons, you will save the bark of the tree from damage and the rope from premature wear.
By the way, the loop at the end of the hammock rope should not be tightened with such methods of suspension. It can be tied up with the same bowline or an eight knot.
Knot to adjust the tension of the rope
For ease of adjusting the tension of a hammock, you can use the method of using a small plate with two holes. But if there are no devices, you can just as well use this simple knot.
One crucial point, if you strongly tighten the rope then you will not be able to loosen this tension sufficiently to move this knot.
By the way, such a node can also be used to regulate the length of an awning or a tent.
