- In the high breeze, the hammock swings heavily. If you have a weak heart, stick to ground camping.
- People with the following problem finds problems in sleeping in a hammock.
- You have to hang your gear with the strap of tarps.
So, you will see some problem and a lot more advantages if you take a hammock in your hiking.
Special tips
- Trace out your route on the map and know about the geography of each place.
- Try to keep both hammock and tent in your hiking group.
- My special one, “Find a spot for hanging your hammock from where you can see the sunset.” Believe me, seeing the sunset from a hammock a whole different thing.
Appalachian Trail gives a mesmerizing experience, and it doesn’t matter whether you go for a hammock camping or tent camping. But somehow, I find hammocking in AT makes my hiking more exciting and relaxing.
